Wallet
Lace on Cardano
Lace is IOG's official wallet and speaks CIP-30 out of the box. It's the recommended browser wallet for both Preview and Preprod testnets.
- 1. Install Lace
Grab it from lace.io (Chrome / Brave / Edge). Create a fresh wallet — never use a mainnet seed on a testnet.
- 2. Switch to a testnet
In Lace: Settings → Network → Preview (or Preprod). Confirm the badge at the top of the wallet changes to the testnet name.
- 3. Copy your address
On the Receive tab, copy the address that starts with
addr_test1…. - 4. Fund from the faucet
Paste the address into the Cardano Testnet Faucet and pick the matching network. Tokens land in ~30 seconds.
- 5. Connect below
This panel talks to Lace via CIP-30 (
window.cardano.lace.enable()). If networkId ≠ 0, you're on mainnet — switch back.
Connect Lace (Cardano)
Lace not detected. Install from lace.io and enable the Cardano network (Settings → Network → Preview).
Need test ADA? Grab some from the Cardano Testnet Faucet after connecting.
Mobile support
- Lace Mobile (Android / iOS) works fine on both Mainnet and Testnet for send / receive / staking.
- Its DApp Explorer tab (four-dots icon on the bottom nav) is Mainnet-only and shows a curated list of dApps — there is no address bar, and the tab is hidden entirely in Testnet mode.
- That means arbitrary Preview / Preprod dApps — including everything in this project's showcase — cannot be opened from Lace Mobile today. Use desktop Lace for testnet testing.
